Hello! I’m Amy.

I’m a writer of contemporary fiction, originally form the South East of England. I started writing as a student at the University of Kent, where I was awarded an MA in Creative Writing, then a PhD in the same subject.

I’m very luck to be able to teach my subject, but writing is the thing I love the most. I’m interested in quirky storylines, often tending towards dystopian situations in very relatable settings. My first novel, The Biggerers, is an example of this. It imagines a world in which big people keep little people as pets and was published by Point Blank in 2017.

My second novel, The Water That May Come, will be published by Fly On The Wall Press in October 2025. I’ve written short stories for various journals, and I co-produce On Silence literary podcast. I live in Lincoln, UK, with my husband and various houseplants.
